Rehema Helping those within the church Please see Compassion Policy for the guidelines. Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16 Rehema is committed to focused, practical giving showing the love of God within the community of believers at Karen Vineyard. This ministry was re-launched at Karen Vineyard Church in September 2008. Within just a few months it assisted nine individuals and families. We recognise that a city like Nairobi harbours great injustice, with the rich and poor living side by side. Many are in need, through no fault of their own. While it's impossible to meet every need, the members of Karen Vineyard Church wanted to set up a mechanism to help members in genuine distress. The team offers a consistent and thoughtful approach to giving, with a clear sense of priorities. We aim to be perceptive and responsive. One of the motivations behind the ministry is to discourage the practice of individuals presenting their appeals to people in the congregation after the Sunday service. Please do not give to anyone who asks you for money after the service! Instead, introduce them to an usher or any leader who will show them where to find the application forms It would help the Rehema team, too, if they were aware of others who already provide long-term assistance to any member of the church congregation. We do not want to discourage this kind of giving for those who feel led to provide it; but we do want to make sure that, in a time and place where resources are few and needs are many, that some people do not get an abundance of help while others get nothing.

Many of them eagerly desired to continue educations which had been interrupted by war and displacement. The Rehema ministry decided it could provide bursaries and coordinate the extra giving of individual church members to help six of these young men continue their education. Some of the boys are attending Eor-Ekule School near Narok town. The others got to Muguga School near Limuru. We look forward to reports from them at the end of the school year. In the meantime, please uphold them in your prayers.
